Budget comes and goes...
Amended and voted by the Lower House, then amended and voted in the Senate, the budget [2012-2013] is returned back to the Lower House (the two Houses must vote the budget in the same terms). The Commission of the Lower House took the opportunity to vote new changes, concerning in particular the salaries of civil servants, specifying that employees with a salary less than 42.000 Gourdes should receive an increase, between 10 and 16%. The budget will be sent once again to the Senate...

The President of the Senate in Miami
Wednesday, Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate keynote speaker at the monthly luncheon of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, at Parrot Jungle, has reiterated in front of hundreds of businessmen and businesswomen the engagement of Haitian parliamentarians to pass laws favorable to the arrival of foreign investors in Haiti.

Haiti-Kuwait diplomatic agreement
Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi jointly signed with his counterpart from Haiti Jean Cazeau an agreement for ambassadorial-level ties, based on the Vienna 1961 agreement. The agreement aims to enhance and bolster relations between the two countries, utilizing diplomatic channels through the UN charter and international law, said a statement by the Kuwaiti diplomat.

No medal for Gaysli Léon
Today at the Paralympic Games in London, Gaysli Léon, 45, 191 bib, who lost the use of his legs January 12, 2010, participated in the final of Men's Individual Road Race, category H3 the race was held at Brands Hatch, an internationally-renowned motor racing circuit near Sevenoaks in Kent. For the race the athlete use a Handbike, a 3 Wheel vehicle manually propelled composed of a chassis/chair/wheels. It is completed with equipment for propulsion (plates, gears and cranks) and the brake (handle and brake levers). He participated alongside 10 other athletes. At the 8km he was ninth out of 10 with a time of 21:44, at 16km he was 10th out of 10 with a time of 44:04 and to 17:05 of the race leader, at turn 3, 24km, he out of the race because there was (LAP - Lapped), he has been doubled by the race leader. The gold was awarded to WILK Rafal (Pologne) with a time of 1:50:05, the silver to MERKLEIN Vico (Germany) with a time of 1:51:34, and the bronze to JEANNOT Joel (France)with a time of 1:53:37.

No medal for Josué Cajuste
Joshua Cajuste, bib 2373, who attended today the Paralympic Games in London, in the Men's Javelin Throw, category F42, alongside 11 other participants, did not win a medal. He launched the javelin to a maximum distance of 31.38 meters, his best score for the season, anking 11th out of 11. In his first attempt he threw the javelin at a distance of 29.64 meters, his second essay 30.68 meters and on his third attempt 31.38 meters, he was not qualified for the second selection (top 8). The gold medal was awarded to FU Yanlong (China) with a distance of 52.79 meters, the silver to SHOKRISALARI Kamran (Iran) with 52.06 meters and the bronze to STEINSTAD Runar (Norvège) with 48.90 meters.
