iciHaiti - Tourism : Haiti participated in FITCuba 2023
Last week (May 1st to 5, 2023) was held the 41st edition of the International Tourism Fair in Cuba (FITCuba 2023). For this event, the tourism ministers of the Group of 77 + China met in Havana, the Cuban capital. The event, held at the Palace of Conventions, is another sign of Cuba's desire to promote cooperation in the main negotiating bloc of the multilateral mechanism and to place education, culture for sustainable development, science, technology and innovation.

FITCuba was dedicated to the interrelation between culture, heritage and tourism.

A Haitian delegation actively participated in the challenges of tourism in the world after the pandemic and its impact on the development of communities. Luz Kurta Cassandra François, the Minister of Tourism, who represented Haiti at the meeting, spoke about the challenges of a tourist revival with positive impacts on the economy.

During a bilateral meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Juan Carlos Garcia Granda, Minister François demonstrated a link between Haiti and Cuba with a view to multi-destination in the region. This connectivity will see in particular the tourist pole of the North. Provisions for the relaxation of visas for tourist stays have also been considered.
