iciHaiti - FLASH : Faculties of medicine in Haiti are no longer accredited for the United States and Canada
No medical school in Haiti is on the latest accreditation list released by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for the United States and Canada

Let's remember that accreditation is a requirement made by an institution to all faculties wishing to have diploma validation in a given country.

Haiti is excluded from the list of ECFMG faculties of medicine and the 5 usual access routes are no longer possible confirmed Dr. Vladimir Larsen Director of Training and Development in Health Sciences at the Ministry of Health Public (there remains for the doctor for these 2 countries only the path of evaluation by approved doctors through clinical exercises...)

In the absence of this accreditation, students can no longer enroll in the "United States Medical Licensing Examination", which is the program that allows doctors who graduated abroad to pursue medical studies in the United States at through specialization programs in particular. The pursuit of studies in Canada also requires the accreditation of the student's Faculty.

Dr. Larsen points out that the Ministry has done its best to support universities on the path to standardization, but for the rest medical schools must make significant changes and efforts to meet international standards.
