iciHaiti - Insecurity : Kidnapping of the Rector of the Public University of Bas-Artibonite 07/02/2023 08:07:14
"The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) learned with frustration and anguish the news of the kidnapping followed by kidnapping, Monday, February 6, 2023, in the Canaan area, of Dr Wilfrid AZARRE, Rector of the Public University of Bas-Artibonite in Saint-Marc (UPBAS), of his daughter and an employee of the UPBAS Administration. The Rectorate rigorously denounces and condemns this heinous act committed against another member of the university community. He demands the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Wilfrid AZARRE and his companions. The Rectorate brings its solidarity to the families and loved ones of the victims, to the entire community of the Network of Regional Public Universities, particularly to that of the Public University of Bas-Artibonite in Saint-Marc (UPBAS). The Rectorate of the UEH once again expresses, once too often, its indignation at this unspeakable situation and calls on the competent authorities and the living forces of the Nation to realize the urgency of act and stop this descent into hell for society as a whole."
