Following the sinking of the boat "Eklezyas" from Anse-à-Pitre bound for Marigo which occurred during the night of Friday October 29 to Saturday October 30 around 4:00 am, off Grosse Pointe, due to an overload of goods and passengers https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35124-haiti-flash-shipwreck-off-grosse-pointe-at-least-39-victims.html , Eric Prévost Jr., General Manager of the Service Maritime et de Navigation d'Haiti (SEMANAH) went on site and took advantage of its meeting with the local authorities to announce several decisions and measures necessary to prevent such accidents.
