On the evening of Saturday, May 15, Jude Maurice, a police officer attached to the close security of the Minister of Culture and Communication Pradel Henriquez, was fatally hit by several bullets in a restaurant in Delmas 75, where Minister Enriquez was.

Reacting to the news, Frantz Exantus, the Secretary of State for Communication strongly condemns this assassination and takes the opportunity to offer his sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and his sympathies to Minister Henriquez also affected by this tragedy.

Secretary of State Exantus calls on the judicial and police authorities to do everything in their power to identify, arrest and try the perpetrators and accomplices in this crime.

The circumstances and the reasons for this assassination are not yet officially known.
