iciHaiti - Politic : Modernization of the Civil Status
Friday, March 26, as part of the Strategic Plan for Civil Status Reform supported by UNICEF, Rockefeller Vincent, the Minister of Justice distributed motorcycles, computer and office equipment to officers of the Civil status.

Minister Vincent explained, "For remote areas, not yet provided with adequate maternity services, a Clerk living in the Communal Section will receive on site the declaration of the birth of the child using technological tools.

We already have a set of computer equipment, office equipment and motorcycles to make available to the civil status counters in public hospitals, so that all children can be identified from the maternity ward where they are born.

We will modernize the civil registry, using the latest technological tools to put an end to dusty registers 'Twòp Ayisyen pa ka jwenn extract of birth certificate yo paske li pat anrejistre. Sa se yon gwo enjistis. N ap goumen pou nou fini ak sa !"

We will proceed with administrative simplification, by reforming the legal framework, especially concerning Haitian communities living outside (diaspora), to avoid too many procedures for a Haitian born abroad wanting to to identify late as Haitian.
