iciHaiti - Weekly road report : Deadly Christmas period on the roads
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of December 21 to 27, 2020, 39 accidents on the national territory (+ 205%) compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32536-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-24-accidents-67-victims.html , made at least 117 victims (+ 238%): 14 dead (+ 75%) including several public transport passengers and 103 injured (+ 239%) including several seriously.

Carrefour-feuilles, Martissant 15, Mapou Rolin (Ennery), Pont blanc (route de Milot), Madeline (Cap-Haïtien), Léogane, Morne Cabrit, Kencoff, Carrefour Turenne, Pèlerin 3, Carrefour Marin, route 9, street Magloire Amboise, Aquin among others, are the main communes and zpoens where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
