iciHaiti - Japan : Ceremony of handing over the keys of the Faculty of Human Sciences
Friday, October 2 at the Hotel Montana, 16 months after the launch of the rehabilitation and strengthening works of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) funded by Japan, Fils-Aimé Ignace Saint Fleur, the Director General of the Office of Monetization of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD) and the Ambassador of Japan, Mitzuno Mitsuaki proceeded to the symbolic ceremony of handing over the keys of the academic building of FASCH to the Representative of the Rector of the State University of Haiti (UEH).

In his speech for the occasion, the Ambassador of Japan, Mitzuno Mitsuaki declared "Japan is delighted with the finalization of the renovation works of the premises of the Faculty of Human Sciences of the State University of Haiti which were funded by the Japanese government through matching funds. We salute the commitment and diligence of the Haitian authorities to have been able to complete this project despite the difficulties of the socio-political and health context.

It is a gesture of solidarity from the Japanese people to the Haitian people who face and try to overcome important challenges of a socio-political, economic and environmental nature. To this end, we are convinced that quality education remains an essential pillar that can help improve the living conditions of Haitian men. The country will not be able to recover without its well-trained human resources capable of conceiving, planning and implementing its various development projects. In this sense, it is with pleasure that we have contributed to renovating this entity of the State University [...] For a great success in their studies, we wish a good resumption of academic activities to the students who will be the first guardians of this new room."
