The Haitian Consulate in Cayenne (French Guyana) learned with pain of the death of two Haitian nationals including Stanley Bernard who died after an altercation with a Guyanese who surrendered to the police and the other of Ms. Zunada Bernard died in circumstances not yet clarified.

The Consular Post informs the Haitian community that it is closely following the file of the murder of this young man. Likewise, the Consulate remains in contact with the Guyanese authorities in order to clarify the circumstances in which Ms. Bernard died.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Cayenne shares the pain of the Haitian community and offers its heartfelt condolences to the parents, friends and relatives of Mr. Stanley Bernard and Ms. Bernard who lost their lives in Guyana.

The Consular Post invites the Haitian community to be balanced in its reactions, and ensures that it will do everything possible to continue to protect nationals throughout the Consular District.
