As part of its technical support for the Master's program in Geosciences https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23718-haiti-france-ird-sets-up-new-scientific-partnerships-in-haiti.html the Faculty of Sciences of the State University of Haiti (UEH), through the project "Multi-hazard mapping and land use management of the Department of North-West and the Gros Morne district of the department of l'Artibonite" supported the holding of a training workshop from 1st to 2nd August 2018 for 14 Master's students

This workshop, a theoretical training prior to the practical field training to be held from 16 to 23 September 2018 was devoted to the means and techniques of qualification and mapping of the various natural hazards affecting the Haitian territory namely earthquakes, land movements and flooding.

This program, funded by the European Union, which is part of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP - Haiti) aims ultimately to create a pool of young local engineers competent in the field of diagnosis and maps of different natural hazards. This activity is particularly relevant to the project's technical capacity building and skills transfer strategy, which aims to strengthen the technical capacity of national institutions.
