iciHaiti - Theater : The Haitian writer «Jean d’Amérique» finalist of the «RFI Theater Prize» 16/07/2018 08:35:30 This year, the Selection Committee received 168 applications from 19 countries in Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean (excluding overseas France) and the Near and Middle East. The Haitian writer, poet and slammer, Dufresne Jean Berthold Civilus aka "Jean D'Amérique" born December 4, 1994 in Côtes-de-Fer, Haiti, is one of the 12 finalists of the "RFI Theater Prize 2018" List of finalists : - « Trans-maître » de Mawusi Agbedjidji (Togo) - « Avilir les ténèbres » by Jean d’Amerique (Haiti) - « Leurs excellences, les femmes ! » by Olfa Bouassida (Tunisia) - « Le large » by Jocelyn Danga » (RDC) - « La chose de l’autre » by Van Olsen Dombo (Cameroon) - « Les inamovibles » by Sedjro Giovanni Houansou (Benin) - « L’assassin passe au journal télévisé de 20h » de Russel Morley-Moussala (Congo) - « Morve vespérale » by Jean Paul Pooh-Tooh (Benin) - « De la fabrication de l’homme » by Denis Sufo Tagne (Cameroon) - « L’imam s’évanouit » by Assitan Traoré (Mali) - « Et caetera » by Kouam Tawa (Cameroon) - « Jamais d’eux sans proie » by Soulay Thiâ’nguel (Guinea) The "RFI Theater Prize" 2018 will be awarded in Limoges, on Sunday 30th September, as part of the Festival Les Francophonies en Limousin. RFI and its partners offer the laureate, a professional support and media exposure through a financial allocation awarded by SACD; the organization of a residence in France, at the House of the Authors of Limoges and at the Théâtre de l'Aquarium with the collective A mots découvertes, funded by the Institut français; a working residency on the set followed by public readings at CDN Normandie-Rouen, promotion of the text and broadcasting on RFI's antennas. Learn more about the RFI Theater Award : The "RFI Theater Prize" is organized in partnership with the Festival of Francophonies in Limousin, the French Institute, the SACD, the Theater of the Aquarium and the CDN Normandie-Rouen. The aim of the "RFI Theater Prize" is to promote the richness of the contemporary French-language dramatic writings of the South and to promote the career development of young authors, writing in French.
