iciHaiti - Place Saint-Pierre : The location of public toilets, a problem
Following the opposition of groups of citizens on the site of the construction of the sanitary block to serve the area of the Place Saint-Pierre, the Office of the Deputy of Pétion-Ville Jerry Tardieu informs that following the meeting between the Town Hall of Pétion-Ville, the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) and representatives of citizen organizations of Pétion-Ville at the initiative of Deputy Tardieu, an agreement was reached between the parties to work on a new, more adequate location of the toilet block.

Following this meeting, it was decided to form a Joint Follow-up Committee with a view to working urgently on a consensual alternative proposal for a new implantation of the sanitary block.

After two days of work, the Joint Committee agreed that the Union and Municipal Support Committee (MUHC) and the National College of Haitian Engineers and Architects (CNIAH) would work on a proposal for Terms of Reference (ToR), for the construction of the new sanitary block (location and conceptual approach) within a period not exceeding 21 days. While waiting for the ToR, the Town Hall has agreed to suspend the work in progress.

The Office of the Deputy Tardieu has welcomed the spirit of dialogue that has animated the actors concerned and thanks all those who have allowed the culmination of this exemplary collaboration between State institutions and organized groups of citizens.
