iciHaiti - IOM : Armed violence continues to cause displacement of people
Armed violence in Port-au-Prince continues to cause displacement and worsen humanitarian needs.

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), more than 6,000 people have been displaced in just over three weeks in and around the capital.

The ongoing outbreak of violence in Kenscoff, a suburb of the city, on January 27 has displaced more than 4,000 people.

Meanwhile, violence in other parts of Port-au-Prince has displaced nearly 2,000 people since February 14.

As of January 14, 2025, IOM reported that 1,041,000 people had been displaced in Haiti due to armed violence.

An estimated 4.2 million people, or more than a third of Haiti’s population, will require humanitarian health assistance this year.

Nationally, only 27% of health facilities with beds are still fully functional.
