iciHaiti - Les Cayes : Inauguration of the new Campus of the South Public University 15/05/2018 10:58:35
Located in the locality of Laborde on an area of almost 4 hectares, this new university campus, formerly housed in the high school Claudy Museau (Bergeau) which includes an auditorium, more than a dozen classrooms, an administrative block, a computer lab and library pending the addition of other structures, opens a new chapter in the history of the first public university in the South, created in 2006. Minister Cadet welcomed the establishment of this public university campus where nearly 1,700 students will be able to continue their studies in a more user-friendly setting that meets university standards for the transmission of knowledge "This university will now be at the heart of regional development. It is a pleasure for me to take part as Minister of National Education and Vocational Training " The Rector praised this action, which will enable UPSAC to better serve the community and contribute to the development of the South region through the training of executives and the expertise that will be brought by this University in development projects in the zone. At the end of the ceremony, Minister Cadet cut the inaugural ribbon before a guided tour with the Rector of the Campus site. A workshop on the prospects of the higher education sector following the adoption of the Law on the Modernization of Education and the creation of an Agency for Higher Education followed the inauguration of the new premises of UPSAC with the participation of Guichard Doré.
