iciHaiti - DR : Strong increase in Haitian expulsions in 2018 02/04/2018 07:37:22
According to the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) more than 100,000 Haitians were deported to Haiti in 2017 (57,687 during migration control operations between August and December 2017) and 46,527 Haitians who tried to enter the Dominican territory illegally have been expelled at the border (January 1 to December 1, 2017).
Note that since the beginning of 2018 until mid March (2 1/2 months), nearly 30,000 Haitians have already been deported or not admitted to Dominican territory because of their irregular migration situation.
