iciHaiti - Justice : Training in International Human Rights Law
The 6th training session in international human rights law organized by the René Cassin Foundation of Strasbourg (IIDH) was held at the School of Magistracy (EMA) of Port-au-Prince thanks to the joint funding of the Embassy of France and the European Union and with the support of the organization "Civil Society Initiative" (ISC).

Designed for advanced students in the legal, political, human and social sciences, as well as for teachers and researchers, members of the legal profession, civil servants and members of non-governmental organizations, this year's training session was attended by 73 auditors from all over Haiti.

This training included general teaching modules on : universal systems, European and inter-American protection of human rights, international humanitarian law, international criminal law or refugee law, this 6th session was specifically devoted to the issue of detention, a key element of the question of the rule of law in Haiti.

Its aim was to provide participants with access to excellent teaching in the field of international and comparative human rights law, under the guidance of specialists in the field.

Four international speakers from the René Cassin Foundation were thus mobilized during this session: Fabian Salvioli (professor at the University of La Plata and former President of the United Nations Human Rights Committee), Mihaela Anca Ailinçai (Professor at University of Grenoble-Alpes), Philippe Weckel (Professor at the University of Nice-Sofia Antipolis), Elsa Zimmer (Program Officer at the René Cassin Foundation).
