iciHaiti - Mexico : Ratification of APPRI 15/11/2017 09:38:44
On Tuesday, the Mexican Senate was ratified the first economic and trade instrument between Haiti and Mexico, the Agreement for Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments (APPRI) signed between Haiti and Mexico on May 7, 2015.
At the time of the vote, 88 Senators voted in favor of the Agreement, against 0 abstentions and 0 against. Negotiated between the Bureau of Trade Agreements of Haiti (BACCOZ) and the negotiating team of the Secretariat of Economy and Foreign Trade of Mexico (SE), the APPRI will allow businessmen from both countries to promote, develop and intensify Haitian-Mexican economic relations, in particular, stimulate capital and technology flows while ensuring a fair and equitable treatment of investments made in both territories. Haiti can be proud to be the second Caribbean country to sign an APPRI with Mexico after Trinidad and Tobago.
