iciHaiti - Diaspora : 40th anniversary of the HACA in Chicago 10/11/2016 08:55:14 "Dear fellow members of the Community, Dear Friends, Dear friends, My brother and sisters, I am delighted to participate with you in the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Haitian American Community Association. I see many familiar faces, and it feels good to be among friends. Let me, first of all, thank the heads of the Haitian American Community Association who have been nice enough to make me enjoy your company once more. I understand your enthusiasm because during these four decades, this philanthropic community association has touched so many lives in one way or another. I also feel the same enthusiasm because the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago is in a good position to know that the Haitian American Community Association never hesitates to help a fellow human in need; even when the means are precarious. This plaque that was awarded to me in 2011 by the HACA is a testament to the harmonious relations that have always existed between the philanthropic organization and the Consular Mission. At this point, I am pleased to acknowledge the prestigious presence of Dr. Dougé Barthélemy, our key note speaker. I am always proud to share a stage with him. With much reverence, I also salute the generous and dynamic personalities who are being honored by the Haitian American Community Association on this occasion. I also thank them on behalf of the entire Community. In closing, I must thank the heads of the Haitian American Community Association for their kind invitation. I urge you to continue to support this organization. In the course of these 40 years, it has acquired enough experience and reputation to keep making a difference. Once again, I thank you for your hospitality. You mean the world to me. Thank you Lesly Condé Consul General" IC/ iciHaiti
