iciHaiti - Security : A Haitian motorcycle taxi found dead in Elias Piña

Last Friday, around 9:00 am the body of a young Haitian motorcycle taxi, known as "Titi" was found dead in a ravine on the side of the Dominican border of Elias Piña, reported Ulrick Camille, a animator of the Support Group for Returnees and Refugees (GARR) in Belladère. According to reports, the body bore signs of injuries with a knife in the stomach and neck.

Following the conclusion of a Dominican Peace judge, accompanied by the Dominican police, the body of the young Haitian was taken to a Dominican morgue for autopsy.

Contacts have been established without success for a Haitian Justice of Peace in Belladère can do the finding. It took more than 4 hours before the mayor of Belladère appears on the scene...

GARR strongly condemns this crime and calls on the Dominican authorities to protect the lives and property of all Haitians in the Dominican Republic.
