NOTICE: Registration of political parties
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) informs that from Monday June 16 to 25, political parties can subscribe to the CEP. On June 26, a partial list of registered parties will be published. The challenge period will last six days is from June 27 to July 2 and July 3, 2014, will be published the final list of political parties accepted.

Banks do not lend enough
Charles Castel, Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), criticized the credit model applied by financial institutions in the country "The banking system not lend enough regardless of the angle under which it is compared to other countries. Credit to the private sector accounts for only 19% of GDP against 31% for low-income countries and 48% for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Only 43% of deposits collected by banks are converted into loans, whereas in the Caribbean region, 65% of bank deposits, on average, are used for credit to the private sector."
