Alternatives to firewood
The Bureau of Mines and Energy has completed, with the collaboration of Pilot Vocational Training Centre, the development of an evaporator at diesel, for the use of laundry, and two models of oven for bakeries, propane-fueled and diesel. These three facilities will provide an alternative to the massive consumption of fuelwood in this Year of the Environment.

Solar in poultry production
A Solar thermal chain, for laying hen and chicken farm, is at an advanced stage of design, has announced the Bureau of Mines and Energy, who is convinced that the introduction in the poultry sector will certainly encourage the multiplication of poultry and increase production. Meeting at the Embassy of Cuba in Port-au-Prince
Thursday, René Jean Jumeau, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Energy Security (BMSE) accompanied by a young engineer of the Bureau met at the Cuban Embassy in Haiti, the Cuban ambassador in Port-au-Prince Ricardo Garcia Ivandrich and 2 Cuban technicians funded by the Latin American Organization of Energy (OLADE) [of which Haiti is a member] in Haiti until 29 December. The meeting focused on technical assistance provided by OLADE to the Haitian State and the and the needs assessment and repair of the Central Electricity of Haiti (EDH) in Carrefour.
