Community Tourism Development

This week, took place a working session between the Ministry of Tourism and RENAPROTS organization, a group of developers and operators of alternative tourism around the issue of tourism development at the community level in the country, with emphasis on the Central Plateau as a pilot area. The community tourism development and its components, the areas of intervention and key partners were on teh agenda.

National Historic Park

Monday took place a meeting with Jean Francois Thomas, Minister of Environment, Mrs. Josette Darguste, the Acting Minister of Culture, Hérold Josué, Director of the National Bureau of Ethnology, Monique Rosann, Director of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), concerning the appointment of a Management Committee for the National Historical Park.

Notice for police officers

Marc Wilkens Jean, the Spokesman of the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) indicated that the PNH officers are not allowed to use their personal weapons in the exercise of their function. The police officials are required to conduct a monthly check for this purpose according to the police. Yesterday Wednesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin proceeded to the signature with Mr. Ouane of UNESCO Office, of an agreement around the inauguration of the Interpretation Centre of Jacmel. This project falls within the redevelopment of the tourist port of the city of Jacmel.

Installation of a Reform Commission of the DGI

On Monday, the Ministry of Economy and Finance in conjunction with the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has proceeded with the installation of a commission composed of 3 members : Michel Présumé, Ernst Exceus and Paillant Joseph. The purpose of this commission is to assist the DGI in the reform work that is being undertaken in order to implement the ongoing strategic reform plan.
