On Thursday, the U.S. Coast Guard informed to have intercepted more than 230 Haitian migrants at sea and reconducted them in Cap-Haitien. Authorities said that Tuesday, a Coast Guard helicopter had spotted 171 migrants aboard a 40-feet sailing boat near Great Inagua (Bahamas). The same day, in a separate interception 68 other Haitians were found aboard a sailboat in the North of Haiti. Captain Mark Fedor says that the two boats were "grossly overloaded and unable to get to their destination safely." "We want to tell all of you that the farmers here are praying for you and we are also sending a donation to help you recover from the storm damage." Ms. Pierre, accompanied by three other local farm leaders, presented a check for US$150 that will be forwarded to the Philippines through the Kapuso Foundation.
