Program to promote the industry of Cocoa

Insurance for Police officers
Garry Desrosiers, Deputy Spokesman of the Haitian National Police (PNH), announced the forthcoming establishment of insurance for police (illness, injury, death). In addition he indicated "[...] We will continue to provide food cards to our police officers, contrary to some false information that have suggested, we would remove them. All these measures are designed toput the police officers in confidence in order that they fulfill their responsibilities in the best possible conditions."

"Hello neighbor ! - Bonjour voisine !"
Following the Quebec Meetings held in Haiti last spring, 51 Haitian and Quebec writers have launched a collective work, "Hello neighbor !" (Bonjour voisine !), directed by Marie Hélène Poitras. The book features works of fiction, stories, chronicles, poetry, etc... which have in common the desire to tell, beyond the clichés, the new relationship between the two French people of America. Among Quebec and Haitian writers who contributed to the book include Dany Laferrière and India Desjardins, or Gary Victor, Lyonel Trouillot and Frankétienne.

Forthcoming launch of "Single Registry of Beneficiaries"
Thursday, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) held a press conference at the Primature to present the results of some programs to fight against poverty, set up by the Haitian government. The perspectives of FAES for the new fiscal year were also presented, ncluding the upcoming launch of a national survey of households living in extreme poverty, entitled "Single Registry of Beneficiaries" (RUB) and the Integrated Social Information System (SIIS).
