NY Marathon exceptional security
For the 43rd edition of the New York Marathon, the police officers will use 1,400 cameras installed in front of shops in addition of 6,000 others belonging to the city of New York. Thousands of police officers mobilized will be among other equipped with scanners of radiation detection. Not less than 43 sniffer dogs will be posted on the lines of departure and arrival. Since Friday, teams of police divers searched the waters in search of explosives under the five bridges that will run the marathoners. For the first time, riders are not allowed to wear masks, backpacks, including "camelbacks" to get water and jerseys with large pockets.
