Balance of the Ministry of Health

This past week, Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Population (MSPP) presented the department's accomplishments for the year 2012-12013. She noted among other things, the construction of 42 health institutions and the rehabilitation of 29 others across the country, and the construction of two schools of midwifery, the training of 10,000 community health workers and 123 health officers.

Notice of unlimited strike at the UEH

More than 25 teachers from the State University of Haiti (UEH) of the "Think team for the new UEH" (CRNU) notified by the end of August the Executive Council of the State University of Haiti, of a notice of unlimited strike, starting onon 1 October 2013. They primarily blame the teachers pay inequity, citing that "the wages of teachers of the Faculty of Agriculture, is three times the average salary of teachers in eight other entities of the UEH and that of the Normal School in is double." These teachers demanding the implementation of the salary scale developed by the Commission instituted by the University Council, which recommends a monthly salary ranging from 120.000 to 150.000 gourdes.

Language Laboratory

Friday, at the request of the Department of Education of the Ministry of Tourism (DOT), IBS, a firm specializing in technology of education, presented to officials of the Ministry, a languages​​ technological tool. This initiative aims the implementation of a language laboratory in the schools of the Ministry, as well as the improvement of executives in language.
