Discussions on the amendment of the Constitution...
Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate and Jean Tholbert Alexis, President of the Lower House. At the meeting in Montana this Monday, the Senator Desras will propose to parties to also discuss the 2013-2014 budget and a possible new amendment to the Constitution.

Bill against human trafficking
Friday, as part of a luncheon, Mrs. Florence Elie, the Ombudsperson (OPC) has called on parliamentarians to quickly vote the bill of deputy of Bainet, Francois Malherbe on the fight against human trafficking in order to give the country a legal framework. Recalling that thousands of people including children are victims of the situation in Haiti, which is not punishable by the State.

Opening of the National Higher Institute of Training of Midwife
The last week was opened in the capital, the National Higher Institute of Training of Midwife. The objective, according to Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Public Health, is to better deal with the issue of maternal and child mortality and meet the needs of reproductive health.

Cleanup Day in Pacot
Saturday, the Ministry of Environment organized a cleanup day in Pacot. Hundreds of people, brooms in hand cleaned their neighborhood, while youth of the Parish of Port-au-Prince have given their support to the civic movement, by educating passersby with pamphlets.

Drinking water in Samana
A drinking water system has been rehabilitated to Samana, in the municipality of Hinche to facilitate access to drinking water for 8,000 people. Besides the locality of Samana, families of localities of Wanikitè I and II, Samana I and II, Fort Rosoly and Lotbò Pont Vincent are concerned. The rehabilitation project and expansion was funded by the Minustah, to the tune of 35,000 U.S. dollars through its Quick Impact Projects (QIPs).
