Haiti - News : Some news here and there... 04/05/2013 13:21:09 Rupestre Art was developed in Haiti, like other Caribbean islands between 2,500 BC and about 500 years AD, at the initiative of a population of hunter-gatherers. These petroglyphs are usually found at the entrance of the caves, near rivers and streams or sacred places like temples and ceremonial centers. Interpretations given to various patterns still raise controversy among researchers on this art, which still remains very hermetic. The petroglyphs are considered as meaningful sets whose their senses, should be found in Haitian myths. Of persons with disabilities participated in the Fair of the Ministry of Agriculture Once again this year the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH), ensured that people with disabilities were represented at the commemoration of May 1, at the Fair of the Ministry of agriculture. The BSEIPH send a special thank you to the painter disabled Jojo and to the Organization of Defense of the Rights of Deaf and Dumb (ODDSM) for their participation ! Traffic accident Friday, a traffic accident occurred on the National # 6 at the level of Malfety near Fort-Liberté, made four victims and a dozen wounded, most of them was of merchant who went to the binational market Ouanaminthe-Dajabon, which were transported to the Hospital of Fort-Liberté. Press Freedom On the occasion of the World Day of Press Freedom, Josette Darguste, the acting Minister of Communication praised and honored, May 3, 2013, to all workers of the press, pillars, in their own way, of the struggle for the institutionalization of democracy in Haiti. This World Day of Press Freedom offers the Government an opportunity to reaffirm its faith in democratic values that begin with the freedom of expression and respect for individual freedoms. Today, Haiti, finally, turned back to the dark ages when the press was gagged. HL/ HaitiLibre
