The famous footballer Mexican, Jorge Campos in Haiti
Ady Jean Gardy, the Minister of Communication, received in his office a delegation from Mexico led by Mexican footballer, 90s, Jorge Campos. The footballer congratulated the reconstruction efforts of the government and praised the courage of our athletes. Mr. Evens and Mrs. Carmelita Cadet, leaders of the cultural organization "Organization cultural haitiana en Mexico", stated that this visit was part of the launch of the campaign "El baloton", which will provide 10.000 balloons during the year 2013, to several youth associations, football clubs of the capital and of different departments.

Donation of 10,000 solar lamps
Monday, the Dutch company "Off Grid Solutions" announced that it will donate 10.000 solar led lights to Haitians still living in the dark after the earthquake of 2010. Based on an average household of five, this means that 50.000 Haitians, that are now depending on dangerous, toxic and expensive kerosene lamps, they will enjoy of the benefit of renewable solar energy, clean and free.

Pierre-Richard Casimir in Georgetown
Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended Monday in Georgetown, Guyana, at the 31st meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), whose Haiti holds the presidency. This meeting was held in preparation of the 24th intersessional meetings of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of CARICOM, to be hosted by Haiti on 18 and 19 February 2013, as part of its presidency of CARICOM.

Major police operation, more than a hundred arrests
Sunday, a major police operation involving more than 200 Haitian police officers backed by peacekeepers of the Minustah and of the UNPOL, allowed to arrest a hundred people in Delmas 2, morne Marinette, street St. Martin and street Tirmas. TThe police force also invested the headquarters of the Gang "base 117", an abandoned house not far from the ruins of the Cathedral.
