Richard Morse, Advisor to the President, resign
The Adviser to the President Michel Martelly, Richard Morse, announced yesterday via his Twitter account that he had resigned "I handed in my resignation on December 26, 2012. I no longer work for the Haitian Government." The reason for this resignation is not yet known.

Seizure of 89 kg of drugs
According to police reports, Friday, 4 January 2013, at 9:00 am, officers assigned to the OPBAT (Operation Bahamas, Turks and Caicos), acting on information, conducted a search for drugs on a Haitian boat "L'assistance Express", who had just arrived from Haiti, in Great Inagua. During the operation, officers discovered and seized 89 kilos of narcotics, valued at resale, at approximately $1.3 million. 8 of men on the ship were arrested and placed in custody.
