Two missions in Haiti of the IEPF As part of its support to the Government of Haiti, the Institute for Energy and Environment (IEPF) of the Francophonie, organized two missions in Haiti. The second mission [November 11 to 17] focus on the training of executive of the administration in the field of environmental assessment. 30 km of road funded by the European Union Mr. Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works and Javier Nino Perez, Head of the Delegation of the European Union have signed a contract for the rehabilitation of 30 km of the section leading Lascahobas to Belladère, funded at nearly 30 million U.S. dollars. These works lasting 20 months, will be executed by the company Dominican "Ingeniería Estrella SARL" and the Haitian firm "AIC Progetti S.A", will execute for its part, the construction of 24 culverts and two bridges, in Onde verde and Las Aguas, for an amount of $2,6 million. Training in Japan The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) proceeded Friday at the official presentation of a a score of new executives, who have undergone training in Japan. According to Claude Thomas, Consultant of the JICA, the Japanese government's objective is to give support to the Haitian government and also to ensure a continuous training to the executives at all levels, in order, for the Government of Haiti, to be able to continue to ely on the expertise and skills of its collaborators.
