Homeless World Cup 2012
The Embassy of Haiti in Mexico, inform the Haitian Community that Haiti will participate in the 2012 edition of the "Homeless World Cup" organized by the Foundation TELMEX. The Haitian team, under the direction of Mr. Robert Duval, arrived in Mexico City, Thursday, October 4, 2012 and will play its first match on Saturday, October 6 at 3:30 pm against the Canadian selection. The Embassy invites the members of the Community to support the Haitian athletes. The Matches will be played on the square ZOCALO in front of the Cathedral. Admission is free.

Case Zenny-Simonis, closed
Me Jean Antoine Ferreau, the Commissioner of the Government of Jacmel, has closed the complaint involving the Senator Edwin Zenny and the judge Simonis which accused the Senator of having spit in his face. Me Ferreau justifies its decision by saying that the flagrante delicto had not been proven. Moreover, he states only the eyes of the law, it is not a crime but a mere delict. He encouraged the complainant to use other legal remedies more appropriate in this case.

Consulates closed for "Columbus Day"
The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti to Orlando and the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Atlanta informea the Haitian community of their respective jurisdiction, that the Consulate will be closed Monday, October 8 at the occasion of "Columbus Day." Services will be available back starting Tuesday, October 9.

"Haiti is open for Business"
"Restoring the Global Economy" was the theme of a forum held at the Omni Hotel in the CNN Center, Atlanta yesterday October 4 2012. Organized by Auburn University’s Center for Governmental Services, the forum was lead by a panel of consultants, local officials, scholars and representatives of Atlanta’s consular community. In his presentation "Haiti is open for Business" the Consul General of Haiti in Atlanta Gandy Thomas insisted on the advantages of investing in Haiti compared to other countries in the Caribbean and the win-win situation for the people of Haiti in terms of job creation and for investors to increase their profits.
