Lawyers trained to the tax system
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and the Bar of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, aware of the need to assist lawyers to understand some tax laws [in particular the law on the orced recovery of debts of the State], have decided to organize the 5 and 6 October, a training. Convention on copyright
The Office of the Haitian Copyright (BHDA) and the National Directorate of Book (DNL), two bodies deconcentrated of Ministry of Culture, have signed a partnership agreement Thursday about copyright. The objective is to provide the Centers for reading and cultural activities (CLAC) with tools allowing to ensure the respect of right of book professionals. In this sense, a cell will be established in each CLAC where an animator trained by BHDA, will ensure the popularization of the concept of copyright and related rights in favor of the creators.

Coast Guard repatriates 219 Haitian migrants
The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Confidence repatriated 219 Haitian migrants to Cap Haitien, Haiti, this week. Watchstanders at the 7th Coast Guard District command center received notification of a sail freighter northwest of Great Inagua, Bahamas, with 131 Haitian migrants aboard Sunday. The Confidence arrived on scene, safely embarked. In another case, watchstanders at the 7th Coast Guard District command center received notification of a 40-foot motor vessel with 88 Haitian migrants aboard in the vicinity of Castle Island, Bahamas, Monday. The Royal Bahamian Defense Force intercepted the vessel and transferred the 88 migrants to the Confidence. In the two case, once aboard, all migrants are provided with food, water, shelter and basic medical attention. All the migrants was repatriated Wednesday in Haiti.
