Laurent Lamothe is in Bolivia
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe has left the country in the afternoon of Thursday for for Cochabamba in Bolivia to participate from 3 to 5 June 2012 at the 42nd Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) which Haiti is a founding member. The Assembly which brings together 35 Member States will be held on the theme of "food security in all sovereignty in the Americas", is crucial for Haiti in a context where the government Martelly-Lamothe working hard to stem hunger in the country.

INITE will not return on its decision
According to Paul Denis, the political adviser of INITE, the the Directorate does not intend to return on its decision to exclude from the political platform the Senators Joseph Lambert and Kelly C. Bastien. He recalled that the Directorate had issued warnings to both senators excluded regarding their policy positions, contrary to the line of the platform.

Haiti member of the International Ski Federation
At its biennial convention in South Korea, the International Ski Federation (FIS) which governs the disciplines of alpine skiing, cross country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and freestyle skiing has announced that Palestine and Haiti are new members of the FIS. The International Federation has also committed to deliver 20 million U.S. dollars between its member countries over the next two years to promote skiing disciplines.

Haitel could resume its services
Conatel and DGI work at the reopening of the company Haitel and have commissioned for this purpose extensive work on the network. Discussions are underway with the main equipment supplier of Haitel in order to proceed with the evaluation of network infrastructure and restore services to customers as soon as possible.

INITE prepares for elections
INITE stated on Thursday that the political platform of former President René Préval prepares to participate in the upcoming elections. Discussions have been initiated with other political organizations, to form a common front.
