iciHaiti - Justinien University Hospital : Inauguration of a new pediatric unit
On Tuesday, March 18, as part of the 135th anniversary of the Justinien University Hospital (HUJ) in Cap-Haitien, Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health and Population, inaugurated a new pediatric unit.

This ceremony was attended by Dr. Gabriel Thimothé, Director General of the Ministry; Hans Humbold Charles, Health Director for the North; Kalil Turenne, Executive Director of the HUJ; Jory Desir, Medical Director; Paul Euclide Toussaint, Head of the Pediatrics Department; as well as physicians, nurses, management and support staff, and political, judicial, religious, and police officials.

In his opening remarks, Minister Sinal emphasized that the opening of this pediatric unit responds to an urgent need for families in the North and surrounding regions. He emphasized that this represents not only an improvement in hospital infrastructure, but also a strengthened commitment to every child's fundamental right to health and well-being.

Bertrand Sinal also thanked all those who made this achievement possible, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) for construction, UNICEF for rehabilitation, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) for nutrition, and Konbit Santé, which has been involved since the project's inception.
