iciHaiti - Politic : Mission to monitor the situation in Haiti
In the framework of the initiatives of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) in support of national and international efforts for the restoration of constitutional order and the return of Peace in Haiti, Mrs. Louise Mushikiwabo, the Secretary General of the OIF, dispatched to Port-au-Prince, in agreement with the transitional authorities, an information and contacts mission.

This Mission led by Domitien Ndayizeye, former President of the Republic of Burundi, Special Envoy of the Secretary General met with Me Amoce Auguste, Deputy Protector of the Citizen and Jude JN. Pierre Director General of the OPC in the absence of Me Jean Wilner Morin, Protector of the Citizen currently in Geneva (Switzerland) to participate in the annual conference of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.

The main objective of this Mission is to engage in in-depth consultations with all stakeholders in the conduct of the transition, in order to determine with them the modalities of the OIF's support in response to the multifaceted crisis that Haiti is going through.

Domitien Ndayizeye, will seize the opportunity of his visit to ensure good coordination of the OIF's action with regional and international partners engaged in supporting national efforts for an exit from the transition.
