iciHaiti - Economy : More than 1,000 young people gathered at the «Kenari Annual Summit 2025»
Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, Laurent St Cyr, Presidential Transition Advisor (representing the private business sector) participated in the 4th edition of the "Kenari Annual Summit 2025" organized by Kenari Magazine in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) which took place at the Karibe Convention Center in Pétion-ville with more than 1,000 young people, around the theme "Fintech, education, financial inclusion, cooperation and international trade: Building a connected and competitive Haiti."

The first panel brought together renowned experts around the themes: digital economy, fintech, financial inclusion and international cooperation. The afternoon was devoted to a second panel focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and financial education.

In his speech, Advisor Saint-Cyr stressed that, despite the crisis affecting all sectors, Haiti cannot remain on the sidelines of major economic and technological transformations. He recalled that the transition is based on three essential pillars: the restoration of security, the organization of credible elections and economic recovery, stating that "Without economic recovery, there can be no sustainable security. Without security, there can be no development."

He stressed the need to "create a favorable business climate", "encourage entrepreneurship" and ensure "real economic inclusion". He particularly emphasized the role of young people and women in building sustainable and inclusive growth.

"We must offer our youth concrete prospects for employment and development, in order to counter despair and exodus. A stable economic future is an essential response to insecurity." calling on young entrepreneurs to innovate and build the Haiti of tomorrow.

"The State is at your side," concluded Mr. Saint-Cyr, reaffirming the Government's commitment to supporting private sector actors, young people and women in this critical period.
