iciHaiti - Canada/UNODC : Donation of a large batch of vehicles to the PNH
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Embassy of Canada in Haiti, during an official ceremony at the General Directorate of the Haitian National Police, in the presence of Rameau Normil, Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Ambassador of Canada to Haiti André François, Pierre-Luc Saindon, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Canada in Haiti and Dabagai Dabagai, the Director of UNOPS in Haiti and Juan Marquez, Head of the UNODC Office in Haiti, handed over a large batch of vehicles to the PNH.

This donation of rolling stock is part of the cooperation between the Embassy of Canada in Haiti and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Out of a total of 59 Toyota Land Cruiser all-terrain vehicles promised to the police institution, 42 were delivered on Thursday.

This ceremony was also an opportunity for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to hand over 31 vehicles to the PNH, including 12 Toyota Land Cruiser pick-ups and motorcycles.

The 42 vehicles handed over by the Canadian Embassy will strengthen the operational capacity of the Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DAP), while the other 31 handed over by UNODC are intended to strengthen the Land Border Police (PoliFRONT).
