Advisor Smith Augustin spoke at the organization’s Past Presidents’ Luncheon on Saturday, on the theme of "The Role of the Haitian-American Diaspora in Governance, Economic Development, and Civic Engagement in Haiti." Kathia Verdier, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, present at this Summit expressed her deep gratitude to the Haitian diaspora, an unwavering force and driving force of Haiti’s development, emphasizing "This Summit is a precious opportunity to celebrate our achievements, but above all to strengthen our ties and work together towards a prosperous and inclusive future for our beloved Nation." It brings together representatives from 22 states and a network of 170 current and former members from the federal, state, local and judicial levels.
