The Haitian American Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize Ms. Soeurette Michel, Esq., LL.M., as its 2024 Member of the Year.

Ms. Michel is the CEO and Founder of The Michel Law Firm, LLC, based in South Florida, where she specializes in business litigation, criminal defense, immigration and naturalization law, and human rights.

Ms. Michel's commitment to human rights is evident through her two decades of advocacy for migrants in the Dominican Republic. Her LL.M. thesis, titled "Human Trafficking of Haitians within Haiti and the Dominican Republic: A Human Rights Approach," addresses the challenges faced by Haitian victims of human trafficking, particularly in the Dominican Republic.

She has also been actively involved in assisting Haitian nationals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) applications in the U.S. and has contributed to legal actions on behalf of cholera victims in Haiti.
