iciHaiti - Dom. Rep. : More than 75,000 Haitians sent back to Haiti in 67 days
More than 75,000 Haitians have been returned to Haiti (deported or repatriated) since October 2nd, 2024, when the Dominican Government established a stricter immigration policy against all those who do not respect Dominican migration laws https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43334-haiti-flashrepatriation-of-10-000-haitians-per-week-the-great-hunt-has-begun-in-the-dominican-rep.html

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reveals that between December 3 and 9, 2024, 7,027 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation were returned to Haiti.

Among the repatriations (pushbacks at the border) carried out between December 3rd and 9, 3,118 Haitians were intercepted in Dominican territory at the border and repatriated through the border points of Elías Piña (1,270), Jimaní (810), Pedernales (535) and Dajabón (503).

The other 3,909 deportees were intercepted during migration control patrols throughout Dominican territory and then transferred to one of the detention centers established in Haina (2,193 people), Santiago (1,097) and Dajabón (619). After being duly processed, verification of their migratory status and, depending on the case, released (if in order) or deported to Haiti after taking fingerprints, photographs, identification and verification if they are repeat offenders and the duration between their last deportation.
