iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : More than 500,000 Haitians expelled in 2 years 05/12/2024 08:25:05 According to statistics provided by the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), a total of 253,328 Haitians have returned to Haiti so far this year, compared to 251,018 for the year 2023, or more than half a million illegals over 2 years. On December 1st, the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, announced the creation of a specialized immigration unit, focused on strengthening border surveillance and national security. In addition, a court in Pedernales sentenced two men involved in the trafficking of Haitian migrants to 5 years in prison.
