iciHaiti - Social : Hundreds of young Haitians involved in volunteering
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Volunteers Program (UNV) will celebrate International Volunteer Day on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Karibe Convention Center around the theme "Volunteering, a commitment that lasts".

From December 3rd to 5, 2024, 200 new school crossing guards and UN volunteers will participate in training led by technicians from the MJSAC and the Civil Protection Directorate at Coin du village in Pétion-ville and at the Karibe Convention Center on topics such as v: first aid, road traffic, risk and disaster management, citizenship education and protocol.

The official ceremony to celebrate International Volunteer Day will take place with the participation of more than 300 young people and volunteers at Karibe on Thursday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. A whole series of activities will be organized to mark the celebration of this day.

The involvement of the MJSAC in the celebration of International Volunteer Day 2024 responds to the need to mobilize new volunteers in the metropolitan area of ​​Port-au-Prince and is an expression of its determination to work towards the development of volunteering in Haiti.

The mobilized young people are committed to Peace, development and environmental protection.
