iciHaiti - HIV/AIDS : Progress in Haiti is tangible 02/12/2024 08:02:32
On Sunday, December 1st, 2024, U.S. Ambassador Dennis Hankins and Minister of Public Health Duckenson Lorthe Blema participated in an event commemorating World HIV/AIDS Day. The United States is partnering with Haitian organizations and the Government to expand access to treatment, care, and prevention.
Progress in Haiti is tangible :
- 96% of people living with HIV are aware of their status
- 89% are receiving treatment
- 87% of those on treatment have achieved viral suppression
While progress is clear, ongoing insecurity remains a challenge. The United States is committed to adapting and supporting the most vulnerable, including women and children.
