iciHaiti - Agriculture: Environment : PROMODEV distances itself from the Government

The Administration of the non-profit association "Promotion for Development" (PROMODEV / Allo AGRO) notes with great concern the accelerated deterioration of achievements in terms of national agricultural production and environmental preservation. "This alarming situation, which affects both our economic and ecological sectors, results in large part from the categorical opposition of certain actors, both inside and outside the country, to the initiatives carried out by Haitian development agents," explains PROMODEV.

"We have, in fact, identified strategies of manipulation and infiltration aimed at maintaining the status quo, as well as concerted efforts to preserve a climate of generalized insecurity in Haiti.

In response to this worrying situation, PROMODEV would like to remind all its partners and affiliates of its firm decision to no longer publish or disseminate messages from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment due to the loss of confidence in the actions of dubious morality undertaken by these institutions, in a context where instability reigns.

Furthermore, PROMODEV is distancing itself from the political parties and groups currently in power in Haiti, due to their inability to resolve the social, economic and security crisis affecting the country.

We remain convinced that only a genuine process of dialogue and national understanding can lead to a way out of this unprecedented crisis.

The Haitian people deserve better than this chaotic and disastrous situation. We therefore call for a collective awakening, unity and action, to initiate deep and lasting reforms, with a view to restoring peace, security and prosperity in Haiti."
