iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : Signing of a historic agreement for the development of the commune
On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Cap-Haitien City Hall, in partnership with the Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIN) and several university institutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

This historic agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors for the sustainable socio-economic development of the municipality.

The MoU aims to mobilize the skills and resources necessary to support the Municipality in defining a regulatory framework for sustainable and efficient territorial management. The signatories also plan to work together to develop an Urban Development Plan and a Municipal Investment Plan, essential strategic tools to guide the development of the municipality.

Speaking during the ceremony, representatives of the university institutions welcomed the initiative, highlighting the essential role of research and technical expertise in the implementation of projects resulting from this collaboration.

This MoU , which takes effect upon signature, illustrates the vision shared by the City Hall, the private sector and academic institutions to make Cap-Haïtien a flagship city, not only for Haiti, but for the entire Caribbean region. The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to work together to achieve this ambition.
