"No matter who they are, we have arrested members of the army, members of other institutions, Dominican nationals and Haitians [...] anyone involved in these illegal activities will be brought to justice," firmly stressed the Commander General of the Army, Jorge Iván Camino Pérez. During the month of October, 16,255 Haitians who entered Dominican territory illegally were intercepted and returned to Haiti.
