iciHaiti - Culture : Celebration of the 19th anniversary of the DNL
The General Directorate of the National Book Directorate (DNL) celebrated its 19th anniversary. In front of an audience composed mainly of executives and employees, the new incumbent, Jean Gary Denis, reaffirmed his desire to strengthen the structures and activities of the institution.

He took the opportunity to congratulate and thank the staff members for their contribution to the smooth running of the institution.

For his part, Administrator Alandre Désamours, who spoke on the occasion, emphasized conviviality and team spirit, two essential pillars for the good performance of the institution.

A dinner was offered for the occasion.

Let's recall that the DNL created by decree of October 28, 2005, has the mission of promoting books and public reading throughout the national territory. It is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Communication.

Since then, despite all odds, the DNL has tried to fulfill this mission by setting up structures throughout the country to facilitate access to books and reading for the most remote populations.

With this in mind, Reading and Cultural Animation Centers (CLAC) have been set up in various regions of the country. In addition, the DNL supervises a number of municipal libraries with a view to extending their services to a wider and more diverse audience.
