On Monday, October 28, 2014, during his weekly press briefing on the TV show "La Semana" Dominican President Luis Abinader stated that the air border with Haiti will remain closed due to the socio-political crisis affecting the neighboring country, until conditions improve…

"We are not considering changing the airspace with Haiti until conditions in Haiti are different," Abinader said when questioned by the media.
